New Garden Township Declaration of Disaster Emergency – Winter Storm Warning
Effective from Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 12:01 PM through Monday, 11:59 PM.
Effective at 7:00 AM February 21, 2026, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the region that includes New Garden Township starting from Sunday afternoon, February 22nd, through Monday afternoon, February 23rd, 2026.
During this Winter Storm Warning, it is expected to begin as a period of light rain for most areas starting on Sunday afternoon, before progressing into severe snowfall overnight into early Monday morning, with the following conditions expected:
- 8-18” of snowfall
- 56% Probability of 12” or more
- 2” per hour accumulation rate
- Wind gusts up to 30-35 MPH
Due to these conditions, there is a high likelihood of significant snow accumulation on trees, combined with high winds, which can lead to fallen trees and possible power outages.
Throughout the Winter Storm Warning, the Township encourages residents and businesses to:
- Limit travel during the storm
- Ensure sufficient emergency supplies such as water, food, fuel, and heating resources
- Fully charge all electronic devices

To better assist the Public Works Department with snow removal operations, please remove all vehicles from Township-owned roadways, avoid unnecessary travel, and remove trash and recycling bins from the curb.
