Our Mission
Our mission is to provide New Garden residents and visitors with recreational opportunities and programing to advance health and wellness while growing community connections to township parks, trails and open spaces. We strive to manage our parks and open spaces using best practices that protect and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the Township.
Since its founding over 300 years ago New Garden Township’s landscape has been mostly agricultural. . Today there is a manageable mix of agricultural, residential, commercial and open space. Current residents have indicated a strong commitment to preserving and accessing the remaining open space. The Parks department, Parks and Recreation Board, Open Space Review Board and Friends of New Garden Trails volunteers work hand and hand to advance our mission of recreation and preservation.
New Garden Township’s 2018 Comprehensive Plan indicates the Township’s priorities regarding open space and trails through 2028.
