The Southern Chester County Regional Police Department officially began on January 1st, 2017. The name was adopted because it implies an open welcome to potential future partners. We believe the region to be bigger than any one community.
When Chief Simpson asked the Board of Supervisors in January of 2014 if this was something he should research, he had no idea about the journey they had ahead of them.
Partnering improves the delivery of public safety services in many ways. Our critical areas of operation become stable meaning:
- The community becomes safer.
- The budget becomes predictable.
- The quality and level of service is enhanced.
- The police coverage becomes consistent.

But, most of all we are able to recruit, retain, and uniformly train our officers to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
We live in a world where partnerships are vital to success.
