The Second-Class Township form of government permits the appointment of a Township Manager who shall serve as the administrative officer of the Township and be responsible to the Board of Supervisors as a whole for the proper, efficient, and economical administration of the affairs of the Township.
The power and duties of the Manager to conduct Township business, as outlined in the Township code, include but are not limited to:
- Supervision and responsibility for the activities of all municipal departments.
- Justification and administration of the annual Township budget
- Develop long-range fiscal plans for the municipality.
- Prepare the agenda for each meeting of the Board of Supervisors
- Oversee that the provisions of all ordinances, franchises, leases, permits, and privileges granted by the Township are observed.
